Mission

CRC’s mission is to provide child-centered, family-focused mental health and co-occurring mental health and substance abuse services to all Wood County and nearby families.

At the core of our work is the belief that experiences in childhood affect who we are and how we understand the world. To create a supportive environment for growth, development, and healing, we believe family, medical providers, school, community, and friends are all essential and must work together. We strive to provide collaborative, compassionate, and affordable treatment designed to maximize every child’s safety and future happiness.

The Children’s Resource Center has provided behavioral health services to the youth and families of Wood County since 1976. We currently provide a full spectrum of trauma-informed mental health and co-occurring mental health/addiction services. We actively promote and implement the community support system model promulgated by the Ohio Department of Mental Health. This model represents a “system of care” for children and adolescents.

History

In 1972, the Wood County Community Mental Health Board formed a subcommittee known as the Wood County Children's Services Association, with a primary goal to develop a proposal for mental health services and facilities for the children of Northwest Ohio. The proposal was completed on May 20, 1974, and put forth the development of a 15,400 square foot multi-service center for children to be located in Wood County. While in development, the Wood County Children’s Services Association incorporated as a private, non-profit corporation and began offering limited services in 1976. Ground for the multi-service center was broken in August 1977 and completed the following year in August 1978. It was named the Children’s Resource Center and housed mental health prevention programs, outpatient services, classes for severely behaviorally handicapped students, and a residential unit. Over the years, the Children’s Resource Center underwent numerous renovations and expansions, evolving into the agency it is today, complete with a full continuum of behavioral health services to offer for those in need.

Services

CRC provides caring, competent and comprehensive mental health services for children, families and young adults up to age 24.

Requesting Services
When you request services, our Intake Coordinator will start to gather information about your family’s needs. This conversation gives us a general idea of your concerns and typically leads to an appointment for a Mental Health Assessment (MHA). The MHA allows us to learn more about the nature of your child’s needs and helps us to determine the appropriate treatment services to recommend. Our clinicians will complete a family interview, administer questionnaires about child and family functioning, and discuss treatment options that will best meet your child’s needs.

Payment and Coverage
All services provided by CRC (excluding Prevention Services) are billed through the client’s insurance. CRC accepts Medicaid and most health insurance plans. The Children’s Resource Center will serve all Wood County families regardless of ability to pay. A sliding fee discount is offered for all services based on family size and family income with funding through the Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board Levy. Proof of income documentation must be provided to qualify.

Pago y Cobertura
Todos los servicios proporcionados por CRC (excluyendo los servicios de prevención) se facturan a través del seguro del cliente. CRC acepta Medicaid y la mayoría de los planes de seguro médico.
